The currency unit of the Republic of Bulgaria is the lev (BGN), which is equal to 100 stotinki (st.).

Since 1997 the country has been in a currency board and has a fixed exchange rate of 1 euro = BGN 1,95583.

Currency can be exchanged in banks or in any of the numerous exchange offices.
